The 2019 NSW Public Schools State Drama Ensemble provides students from Years 9-11 with the opportunity to develop a work for performance at the State Drama Festival.
Places in this Ensemble are open to talented students who are currently attending a NSW public school.
Students must submit a three minute monologue and then are judged against hundreds of students across the state to be selected.
Hastings Secondary College's Phoenix Nincsis, Emma Page and Sasha Davies have been selected to be part of the ensemble while Adam Wall was successful in securing a place in the Senior State Drama Ensemble in 2019.
Drama teacher Hellene Underwood said it was exciting to have four students heading to Sydney as both ensembles are extremely competitive.
"The State Drama Festival is the best of the best drama students from across the state," Ms Underwood said.
"There are only 24 students who get selected for the State Drama Ensemble and for us to have three students selected is incredible.
"And on top of that for Adam to be selected as one of 16 students for the Senior State Drama Ensemble it is really fantastic.
"All the students have been working hard and we are incredibly proud of all of them."
Adam Well and Emma Paige said they really enjoyed drama because they enjoyed putting on a show for others.
"I love getting up on stage and performing for people. My favourite thing to do is accents and getting into another character," Adam said.
"I think drama is an amazing form of self expression. You can tell a story and become a whole new character," Emma said.
Phoenix Nincsis and Sasha Davies said they were excited to be heading to Sydney to work with the ensemble.
"Drama is a lot of fun and so to be able to get up on stage with others will be really exciting," Phoenix said.
"I love watching others in the group and seeing how the change and grow over the performance. I find it really interesting to see how people's behaviours change so that will be interesting to see," Sasha said.
