In the battle of the Sharks, the runaway try inside the final minute provided Port Macquarie with just their second defeat in nine games throughout the tournament.
Unfortunately they couldn't hang onto an early 2-1 lead, but coach Katie Kelly was "over the moon" with the performance of her side who were appearing in their first junior oztag tournament.
"Only one of our players had played oztag before, the rest had barely played at all let alone played at state cup level," she said.
"We had a few girls who were 11 and 12 years old who were playing in the under-14 division so we were over the moon with it."
The Sharks two defeats both came at the hands of Sutherland, but Kelly was inspired by their effort in the final.
"We lost one game throughout the rounds 6-2 to Sutherland and we were only beaten 3-2 in the final," she said.
"I can't really single out any of the girls out because they were faultless across the park."
