A man in his seventies has died after he was hit by a car while walking in Sydney's inner east.

Emergency services were called to Roslyn St in Rushcutters Bay about 3.30pm on Friday after the 77-year-old was hit by a vehicle that did not stop.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition.
He died shortly after 3am on Saturday, NSW Police said in a statement.
Officers have forensically examined the crime scene and are working to find the driver.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
